Mellott – Funeral services were held today for Michael Ehrie, age 85, prominent farmer, who died at his home near here. The widow, a son, three daughters, a sister, a brother, 20 grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive.

Mellott, Nov 3 – Michael Ehrie, 85, a farmer, died at 6:40 a.m. today at his home, three miles southeast of here after an extended illness. He was born Jan 15, 1852 near Madison, a son of Michael and Mary (Kaiser) Ehrie, and was married Nov 23, 1881 at Crawfordsville to Katherine Broderick. He had been a resident of Fountain County 58 years and 40 years on the farm where he died. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Crawfordsville. Surviving are the widow; a son, John of near Mellott; three daughters, Mrs. Julia McCollum and Mrs. Gertrude Murdock of near here and Miss Mary C. Ehrie of Chicago; a half brother, Peter Kramer, Madison and sister, Mrs. Frank Schaffer, Indianapolis.  The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard’s church with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Crawfordsville.
